DECADENT CHOCOLATE ORANGE CAKE
When I’m feeling ambitious I love baking this 4 layered marmalade cake, filled with cream cheese frosting and indulgent chocolate ganache. Find the full recipe here.
1. Blitz marmalade, sugar and orange peel in the food processor.
2. Add marmalade mixture with the butter in a large bowl.
3. Cream the marmalade mixture with the butter.
4. Add eggs one by one.
5. Sieve the flour with the baking powder and bicarb and add to the mixture with the orange juice.
6. Mix until smooth.
7. Separate mixture between 2 tins and bake for 35 minutes.
8. Once fully baked remove from the oven and leave cakes to cool.
9. Heat the cream in a pan, and add the butter and chocolate.
10. Slowly stir the butter into the chocolate to make a ganache.
11. Once the cakes are cool, cut each cake into 2 layers.
12. Make the cream cheese frosting by blending the cream cheese with marmalade and sugar.
13. Spread a layer of cream cheese frosting over a layer of cake then follow with ganache.
14. Carry on layering the cake with the cream cheese frosting and ganache.
15. Cover the layered cake in the remaining ganache.
16. Decorate the top if desired and then place in the fridge to set.
